All You Need Is Chromebooks…For Google Expeditions!

I have long enjoyed using iPads to lead students on Google Expeditions. At ISTE, Google for Education dropped some great news: Teachers can now lead and students can now follow Google Expeditions on Chromebooks. Imagine that, students and teachers can now engage in Google Expeditions using their daily-driver Chromebooks thanks to the Google Expeditions Android app. I know for a fact this works because I led Google Expeditions using Chromebooks as part of Google’s Anywhere School at ISTE.

To see the Google Expeditions Android app in action on a Chromebook, please watch this video:

To make the most of Google Expeditions on Chromebooks, I suggest using Chromebooks that have a gyroscope. Two such Chromebooks are the Acer Spin 11 for Education and the Lenovo 500e.

Does your school, organization, or conference need professional development to help teachers make the most of Google Expeditions and Chromebooks? Have a look at some of my offerings and connect with me on Twitter.
